Lisa-Maria Mourning

Month after month of self-sufficiency from the balcony raised bed

Lisa-Maria Trauer lives and loves urban gardening with over 50 different types of edible vegetables, fruit trees and shrubs on a 10 m² balcony on the 6th floor in Vienna’s Sonnwendviertel district. Year after year, it gets wilder and wilder. The SPIEGEL bestselling author and creative all-rounder provides information via social media, her website and her raised bed guides published by Kosmos-Verlag: „Mein Balkon-Hochbeet: Große Ernte auf kleinem Raum“ (My balcony raised bed: a big harvest in a small space) and, most recently published in January, „Selbstversorgung aus dem Balkon-Hochbeet: Was mache ich wann? Successful harvesting in a small space“, because she gardens in raised beds that she built herself. Lisa is also a photographer and digital artist, focusing on strong business portraits and beautiful product photos.

Contents:

Lisa shows wonderful photos of her green oasis in Vienna across all four seasons. She shows what grows particularly well in the raised beds and tubs she built herself and what she pays attention to. How she manages to create a beautiful aesthetic effect on the balcony and how her young daughter experiences self-sufficiency and nature despite growing up in the middle of the city. Open the balcony door, harvest and your self-catering dinner is ready — it can be that easy.
