Anja Eder
My ArtenRetterGarten book — natural gardening in the allotment garden
Anja Eder is a nature photographer, communication designer, book author and garden owner of a 180 m² urban garden in the middle of Wuppertal’s Nordstadt district. Anja is the author of two outstanding books, which she conceived and designed independently as a freelance communication designer and produced via crowdfunding: “Wildbienenhelfer” and “Mein Artenrettergarten”. In 2018, Anja began photographically documenting and identifying all the small inhabitants of her garden, over 120,000 macro photographs. The wild bee helper book presents 45 wild bee species. The Arten-Retter-Garten book presents over 300 different insect species in individual portraits: which plants they need or prefer, which habitat they need, how and where they house their offspring, when they are out and about, what they eat, what they look like and why they are so important to us all.
